OOC: Set back to Season 4 when Marnie was still possessed by Antonia and trying to execute all vampires, around Episode 8 during the showdown in the cemetery. For argument's sake, let's say Eric has his memory back, even though that doesn't happen for another two episodes. :D

The Bon Temps cemetery had always held a certain comfort in the few occasions Eric had visited it. It was one of the oldest in Louisiana, and because of that, the headstones ran the gamut of some of the years in Eric's vampiric life. He could walk through and recall a memory from the Renaissance and the colonization of Louisiana, the Scientific Revolution, the Victorian age, and so forth. It was like walking back through his life sometimes, walking through the Bon Temps cemetery. It wasn't often that he felt nostalgic, so it was just as infrequent for him to meander through, but it did carry an air of familiarity all the same.

Only this time, his presence was not to take a pleasant stroll among the dead. It was to stand his ground in an all-out war. He was fighting alongside the King of Louisiana - his King - and it was his duty as the Sheriff of Area 5 to keep the vampires of Bon Temps safe. They had gathered intelligence that Marnie, a local witch who was rumored to be a necromancer, had been possessed by a 17th century witch named Antonia. She held a particular distaste for vampires due to the abuse she suffered at their hands after they infiltrated the Catholic Church. All that mattered, though, was their ability to raise the dead. Eric and his fellow vampires were the dead, and they had already been put under a spell that demanded they walk in the sunlight. It had to stop.

Eric and the others - a collection of humans and vampires - were in formation, standing their ground against Marnie and her "soldiers." Fangs exposed, they were on the defense, waiting for the first move. Marnie began to chant in Latin, eyes closed, hands raised above her head. No one knew what it was she was conjuring except for her - not even Sookie could read her mind. In a flash, she summoned more soldiers for her cause, ranging from Old Norse warriors to Red Coats, all of them vaguely opaque. She let out a maniacal laugh, to which Eric responded with a growl. Marnie and her fighters weren't going to win. They couldn't allow it to happen, lest they wanted to seal their own unfortunate demise.

Eric had gone to ground the same as he always did as sunrise approached. He still preferred the concrete room he had created for himself in Sookie's living room armoire while she had gone missing, which was, technically speaking, still his house, but he knew better than to continue using that as his resting place. His new area was not quite as sterile-looking as the old one, and not nearly as spacious. He had been resigned to purchasing and using a coffin in the interim, until he could find another suitable place.

Upon waking, he lifted the lid of his coffin (black lacquer on the outside, a dark steel-gray satin lining on the inside), and sat up with a yawn. He gave a slight stretch, raising his arms above his head, and then crawled out. It was then that he took a look around. His eyes took a moment to adjust to the odd lighting as they frantically searched his surroundings. Where was he? What happened? And god damn it, why was he so horny?

He growled quietly, an automatic reaction, his fangs popping out with a click. He hadn't fed since going to ground that morning. Not only was he horny, but he was hungry, too. A dangerous combination for a vampire.
